"Excitement flows; the urge and the time to paint merge. Enter
my studio, turn on some music or a book on tape, and sit down with this
canvas of possibilities in front of me! There are so many steps along
the way – selecting a subject that inspires me that particular
day and then developing what I want to say in painting it. Whether it’s
a commission piece or for my collection, it becomes a process of picturing
and planning for the final presentation. From the first brush track,
I’m on a journey, sometimes hitting a bump and needing to re-evaluate
my direction, other times such amazement over a passage that I know
did not come from me alone! When my destination is reached, I take some
time to study and enjoy it even as I begin searching for the next one
to do!
Most of my work is done from a series of photographs but never limited
by them. It’s simply a place to start and see where creativity
and imagination can lead me. My favorite art subjects are buildings,
landscapes & still life art, have also done portraits of people
and animals. Each new painting is a challenge and a learning experience
that I love. " - Pat
